Isn’t this photograph just gorgeous?
My plan for my new belly dance costume, which I’m making from an uglyyyy gold lame dress from the 80’s I got at a swap/free market. I just need to make the channel for the elastic waist to be finished with the skirt, and I’m working on the pattern for the bra with scrap fabric, which will be reinforced with some bra cups from an old bra. I will be posting a step-by-step with photos sometime soon!
The black transparent areas will be black chiffon, and the opaque areas are beading. Any comments or suggestions?
So if anyone’s wondering what flawless looks like..
I’m not a huge fan of the skirt, but the belt-bra combo is awesome

Unveiling my most recent belly dance costume, which I made myself!
I am able to make custom designed bras and/or belts for other belly dancers (and burlesque dancers)! A piece as heavily worked and beaded as this would start at about $150.

I want to make a belly dance costume with this as the inspiration!
